car wreck (kind of)

So I finally got up the courage to dust off the old volleyball knee pads and get back on the court. I played for the first time in over 7 years last week, and was extremely sore the next day. Last night I played again, and after pulling a muscle in the first 10 minutes, I got a migraine in the second game. For any of you that have had migraines, you know that it is not a fun time! The worst part is, when I have a migraine, my vision starts to go fuzzy, blurry, flashing, and squiggly moving lines! It's really wierd, and I played the entire 2nd game like this! I found that vision is definatly a good thing to have while playing sports! Anyway, I have been loving getting back into volleyball, even though I have to remember that its been 7 years, and to have patience with myself. When I went to bed last night I still couldn't see (when I would look at my alarm clock, all I would see is red light, not numbers, and usually parts of my vision just dissappears all together), and today I feel like I was in a car wreck last night, partly from the migraine, partly from the soreness after playing volleyball! I didn't know I used half the muscles that are sore for playing volleyball! Hopefully next week goes better!

Ashtyn

This last month has been extremely busy for me. I started selling tupperware in November, and this month I have/had 8 parties booked, which even though it only takes a few hours to do a party, it is always on the weekend or evening, which is the time I am not alone with my boys and usually have time to get some stuff done or relax. I am really enjoying it, but I alsways miss my boys and feel bad leaving Ashtyn since he is a real momma's boy, and usually gives Ryan a hard time while I'm gone. This month has been super exciting for Ashtyn. At the beginning of the month we started giving him cereal every day, which he loves! Since Christmas he has started rolling over both ways, sitting by himself, and bathing in the big tub! He loved the bath tub, he just splashed and splashed! Luckily I havent missed any of his milestones. Here are some pictures of him showing off what he can do!

Blizzard

So I know the blizzard was a few days ago already, but I was out at my parents farm the other day, and they got hit quite a bit harder than we did in Saskatoon. Some of the drifts were 8 feet high, there was 6 foot drifts blocking the entire drive way, and 3 foot drifts blocking huge sections of the main roads. I have attached a few interesting pictures.

Above my Dad is trying to get thru his road way in between the cow corrals and had to move an 8 foot drift that was blocking the entire road to get thru to the bales. Below is after digging.
This is their driveway.

I guess their van isn't going anywhere this winter!

This is on the main road going out to my parents farm...
It was a pretty crazy storm, but it was kind of a neat experience.

New Template

Well, I decided it was time for a new template. As much as I love pink, it just kept clashing with everything I was putting into my blog. I thought with all the boyishness (is that a word?) in my life I would make my blog really girly, but it's just not working out for me. Oh well, I guess my boys are a pretty big part of me, so it kinda over rules!

Happy New Year!!

Well, Christmas has come and gone once again. We had a really good Christmas, but it was extremely busy. We celebrated Christmas at our house on the 22nd with the boys. It was so much fun, Jadyn was really excited. We even did the whole milk and cookies for Santa the night before. Jadyn didn't think it was very nice that Santa ate all the cookies! Ashtyn was in the best mood ever that morning and just kept laughing and talking. It was so cute. When Jadyn opened his cars he said "This is fantastic! They're so cute!" It was lots of fun. Kids really make Christmas! We then ventured out to Borden for Christmas with my Dad's side of the family on the 23rd, then went to Mom & Dad Dueck's that night, where we had a really yummy Dutch supper and spent the evening relaxing. We spent the night, and were awakened early by Ryan's 20 year old brother Shayne, who turns into a big kid at Christmas. It's pretty funny. We all got lots of fun stuff, including new bedding, curtain, and curtain rod, and perfume for me! We relaxed all day, then had an amazing steak, chicken, & shrimp supper topped off with cheesecake! That evening we headed to my parents house for Christmas #4. Everyone was home except my brother Trevor and his wife Christi who live in Vancouver and couldn't make it home this year. We really missed them, but we still managed to have a lot of fun. Christmas morning we opened more presents, which took forever with 3 kids (my 2 and my brother Brent's 1), but eventually we got it done and we were spoiled once again. Here I came home with some new clothes, new dishes, and a home design program which I am really excited about. We played lots of games and ate lots of food and had a great time.
On the 29th we went to Calgary to spend Christmas with my Mom's side of the family. It was really good to see all my aunts and uncles again, and we spent New Years with our good friends David & Hayley, who we always have so much fun with, and are always sad to leave. Ryan wrote an exam at SAIT on the 2nd, and after some shopping we were on our way back to our house finally. Christmas was really fun, but we were definitely ready to come home and get back to reality. So that is our Christmas in a nutshell (or slightly larger).
